2019 will be the first vintage of this wine. Depending on how it develops, it will be released in 2021 with the 2017 Barolo.
It is made from a small part of vines registered as Nebbiolo Langhe in the Vignane MGA as well as some declassified fruit from the Barolo parcels.
in 2019, the Nebbiolo fermented on the skins for about 10 days before being racked to preserve fruit and freshness. It went the malolactic in steel and was transferred to a single 1000L Mittelberger botti. It shows good fruit, freshness and early drinkability. It will be bottled in March 2021 and released with the 2017 Barolo in late March 2021.
In 2020, a part of the Vignane parcel was replanted to Nebbiolo Langhe. The first useable Nebbiolo Langhe from these vines in Vignane should be in the 2022 vintage. I was also able to add fruit from the approximately 2000sm planted to Langhe Nebbiolo in the new Coste di Rose MGA parcel.
The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo was picked on October 8 and 9 and fermented in a single steel tank of 30hl with twice-daily pump-overs during the active ferment. The wine was racked off the skins after 9 days when the sugars came to near zero. It is currently in a single steel tank for the malo. I plan to produce 2500 liters in 2020. fra producentens egen hjemmeside.
