Deep ruby/purple-colored, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape checks in as a mix of 90% Grenache and 5% each of Syrah and Cinsault, aged in a mix of barrels, demi-muids and stainless steel. Kirsch, blackberries, ground pepper, and some loamy, earthy notes all emerge from this powerful yet elegant Grenache that has tons of exuberance and personality. It might be too much for some, but it’s a beautiful expression of Grenache.
