Benjamin Silver’s beskrivelse af vinen:
In 2013 we sourced Cabernet Franc from the Coghlin Vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA, after a twist of fate found me looking for Franca-delic grapes at the last minute. The vineyard management company had given me a contract for someone else’s grapes, by accident. They offered me fruit from a new block of Cabernet Franc in Happy Canyon, 3rd leaf vines producing for the first time.
The vineyard was beautiful with big red rocks, tight rows and it was perfectly manicured. It was going to be certified organic in the next year. How could I say no? I knew young Cabernet Franc vines would require significant blending to create a balanced wine.
This wine has blossomed since it was blended & “shows off” aromatically with beautiful floral notes immediately after pulling the cork. It has proven to be very flexible with food pairings, and seems to appease both professional tasters and basic red wine lovers.
The 2013 vintage in general created wines with unbelievable balance, and finesse.
